In celebration of National Hospice Month, and for the fifteenth consecutive year, Super One Foods and the Miller-Dwan Foundation are partnering to raise funds for Solvay Hospice House. From November 6-26, 2022, twenty regional Super One stores will be selling paper house ornaments for customers to purchase and bring home with their groceries or add to a display in the stores. Over the past fourteen years, this campaign has raised more than $170,000, with 100% of the proceeds benefitting Solvay Hospice House.
Since opening in 2007, Solvay Hospice House and its compassionate caregivers have provided high-quality dignified end-of-life care to hundreds of patients and their families from throughout our region. Each time you visit Super One Foods this holiday season and purchase a paper house ornament, you support these patients and families at their most difficult time and assure the continuation of Solvay Hospice House care for anyone, no matter their circumstance.

Solvay Hospice House brings the expertise of hospice care into the warm and welcoming environment of a home setting. It gives hospice patients and families a place that provides 24- hour, high-quality and compassionate end-of-life care. This attractive residence, located on 9.2 acres of wooded land on Baylis Street in Duluth, offers a meditation area, a music room, a sunroom, and an outdoor screened gazebo.
Because patient comfort is paramount, the home also includes a spa room for gentle baths, aromatherapy and massage. Spacious private bedrooms include a large bathroom, exceptional patient beds, entertainment center, sleeper chair and comfortable seating, as well as sliding glass doors to private patios overlooking beautifully landscaped grounds. More than a building, Solvay Hospice House is a vision of respect for everyone at the end of life. Miller-Dwan Foundation owns Solvay Hospice House and is committed to continued stewardship for both the home and the care of patients. The care within Solvay is provided by Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospice.
