Securities
Gifts of stocks or bonds make excellent gifts. Transferring appreciated stocks or bonds to the Foundation may allow you to avoid capital gains tax while enjoying an income tax deduction for the full market value of the securities. This can allow you the opportunity to make larger gifts than you ever thought possible, particularly when gifting highly appreciated securities with a very low-cost basis.
Legacy Giving
A gift through your will or living trust may qualify your estate for a federal estate tax charitable deduction. Your gift becomes part of the Foundation at the time your will is probated. Gifts can be in the form of cash, stock, property, real estate, or a gift of the residue and remainder of your estate once other bequests have been fulfilled.
Real Estate
Gifts of real estate owned for more than one year can be gifted and may allow you to deduct the fair market value as a charitable contribution while avoiding capital gains tax. Arrangements can be made so you and your spouse can remain in your home until your passing.
Charitable Trusts & Annuities
These versatile gift options meet many individual circumstances and needs. They often provide an increased income stream for you and others and have beneficial tax advantages. There are several types of charitable trust arrangements that can be used both during life and at death depending on your personal, financial and charitable goals.
Life Insurance
Life insurance policies can be gifted in many different ways. You may designate the Foundation as a beneficiary or owner of the policy. Special tax advantages may exist when gifting insurance policies.
